Jose Mourinho has described Jürgen Klopp’s contract extension at Liverpool as good news to the Premier League.
Klopp signed a new five-year deal at Liverpool which will see him remain at the club until 2024.
And reacting to the news, Mourinho stated that it is clear Klopp has a good relationship with fans and players of the club.
“I think that means they are all happy,” Mourinho said.
“Jürgen is happy because otherwise he would not have signed. And they’re happy because if they weren’t, they wouldn’t have given him a new contract.
“But honestly, I think this is great news for the Liverpool supporters because they love Klopp very much, for the players, because it is clear that they love each other and that the relationship is very good, and good news for the Premier League because we want to have the best players, the best coaches.
“And he’s one of the best.”
Klopp will hope to maintain Liverpool’s unbeaten league run when they host struggling Watford on Saturday.
The Reds are eight points clear of second place Leicester and 14 points above champions Manchester City, in the league table.
