Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is having an impressive season in front of goal, as he moved level with Lionel Messi in the race for the LaLiga golden boot.
The Frenchman continued his form in front of goal on Sunday after netting a last-gasp equaliser againats Valencia at the Mestalla.
Benzema has now moved on to 12 goals in 15 league appearances this campaign, level Messi and three ahead of second-placed Luis Suarez.
The two leading scorers will go head-to-head on at the Camp Nou on Wednesday evening, but Benzema has his set firmly on LaLiga glory.
“I am playing with confidence at the moment, and that has helped me to score more goals,” Benzema told Marca after the game.
“I want to win La Liga this season, that is my target.”
“I will help the team in any way I can, with goals and leadership in the coming games.”
“It will be difficult to play away at the Camp Nou, but hopefully we can win.”
“It is always the most important game of the season.”
