signed Ventspils of Latvia goalkeeper Dele Alampasu says he will be back in the Super Eagles in a not too distant future and try to challenge for the number one spot from the duo of Daniel Akpeyi,Ezenwa and injured Francis Uzoho
Alampasu joined Ventspils after spending a year without a club following his exit from Portuguese side CD Feirense at the expiration of his contract . He now want to establish himself at the Latvian side as first choice goalkeeper.
” The aim is to take it one step at a time. I want to be first choice at Ventspils then we can now take it from there. It’s a whole new experience for me and I am glad with all that the team has shown me so far. The set up is very professional”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” About the senior national team of Nigeria, that the long term goal but it starts at Ventspils. I have promised myself that my international career is far from over. I will stage a return in a big way and hopefully claim the number one spot”.
The present first choice goalkeeper of the senior national team of Nigeria Francis Uzoho was third choice behind Alampasu who was voted the best goalkeeper at the 2013 Under -17 World Cup. Uzoho has however experienced a career growth that has catapulted him to the position of first choice of the Nigeria team.
