The first images of Ex Brazilian forward Ronaldinho in a Paraguayan prison has surfaced online after his recent fake passport saga.
The Brazilian and his brother were recently arrested for entering Paraguay with false passports and on Saturday they were transferred to a prison in Asuncion after a judge signed a pre-trial detention order.
Paraguayan journalist Hernan Rodriguez posted the first photo of the Brazilian in prison on Twitter, whilst also noting that Ronaldinho had not lost his signature smile.
They asked to be placed under house arrest, but the request was denied by presiding judge Clara Ruiz Diaz, who says she was not presented with enough information about the houses they would stay in and who determined that the brothers were a flight risk.
As such, Ronaldinho and his brother are currently being held in the headquarters for the national police in Paraguay, on the top floor of the station.
This is normally where high level criminals such as drug traffickers are held.
In Paraguay, the maximum amount of time a case can be investigated is six months and this could actually be a lot less, depending on the arguments brought forward by the defence.
