Former Nigerian captain, John Mikel Obi, has insisted he is open to offers to play for a club in the Egyptian Premier League following his departure from Turkish side, Trabzonspor, in March this year.
The former Chelsea midfielder mutually ended his contract with Trabzonspor after he expressed concern about the Super Lig games continuing in Turkey amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Mikel, 33, is not ready to hang up his boots as he intends to continue playing football in Egypt.
“Playing in the Egyptian Premier League? Why not?” Mikel told the Egyptian media outlet, OnTime Sports.
“I am a professional footballer, and everything is possible. I never ruled anything out.
“My goal is to continue playing football, and I hope I will have the opportunity, I do not reject any offers made to me, but rather study them well until I make the right decision.”
