Super Falcons striker Desire Oparanozie have signed for Dijon FC. She joined the French Side on a two-year contract.
The clubs announcement was followed by Oparanozie confirmation on her official Twitter handle, where she tweeted in elation about the new adventure she is set to embark on.
“Officially i am now a Dijonnais. I am very happy starting a new adventure with this club. The object is to help my new team attain greater heights. Come on Dijonnais💪🏾.”
The Former Guingamp striker, who spent 6-years with the club, would be a great addition to the team, galvanizing the attack. Oparanozie then proceeds, to express her joy for her new club.
“I am so happy to be able to discover something else. I really like this club and the coach’s speech, which has followed me for a long time, convinced me. I am very honored to sign at DFCO.”
Responding to Oparanozie’s joining the club, head coach Yannick Chandioux stated that Oparanozie will bring good fortune for the club.
“In every season, she has be able to prove that she can score. She is used to D1, the type of player who will help the group to grow.
The coach further praised Desire Oparanozie’s energy and flexibilty.
“Oparanozie has a fairly important athletic profile, she is powerful. She is a player who knows almost everything and who should be invaluable in the conservation of the ball.”

Desire Oparanozie’s experience cannot be compared to others in the team, after She has feature in the Falcons squad to the 2011, 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cups.

Dijon finished ninth position in the French top flight in the 2019/2020 season before the Ligue was suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic.
