Dejan Lovren has an additional year option on his current Liverpool deal which would expire in 2021.
They[Liverpool] are planning to activate this option and to prolong his stay at the club in case he’s still at Anfield by the end of the summer.
This option will also affect Lovren’s price tag as he’s still a Liverpool player until 2022.
According to Reports, Zenit St Petersburg are indeed interested in the 31-year-old but have not made their interest known to Liverpool yet.
The problem is, the Russian side thought that Dejan had only 1 year remaining on his contract and hoped they wouldn’t have to splash big cash to land the defender.
The Croat’s outgoing transfer seems almost imminent, however, it remains to be seen whether there will be potential suitors if Liverpool want a bigger transfer fee for him.
He’s been in and out of the Liverpool team this campaign mostly swapping places with Joe Gomez making only 14 appearances in all competitions.
