Kante has missed Chelsea’s last two games and he has been ruled out of Tuesday’s home game against Norwich.
But Lampard hopes the France midfielder could be fit to return at Wembley this weekend for the FA Cup fixture against Manchester United.
Lampard on Kante’s health: “He is not fit for Norwich,b ut he has a chance for the semi-final.”
Without Kante, Chelsea’s hopes of securing Champions League qualification they took a hit when they lost 3-0 at Sheffield United on Saturday.
Chelsea remain in third place after Leicester lost 4-1 at Bournemouth with just one point away from Leicester City and Manchester United who are on 4th and 5th place respectively after the latter drew their game at Old Trafford to Southampton and they need to fight for a spot in top 4 due to Manchester City’s overturned ban by CAS.
Norwich were relegated in their 4-0 defeat to WestHam but Lampard said: “We have to treat them with utmost respect.”
“Wounded animal or whatever you want to call it, but they have quality players who have played very well in a lot of games this season where they can count themselves unfortunate not to get results. We will expecting a very tough game,” Lampard said.
The 29-year-old has helped to bring stability to the Chelsea midfield. He’s made 27 outings for the Blues and has fired 3 goals in all competitions.
