Philippe Coutinho now seems ready to lower his wage demands and consider move to Arsenal, as per reports from Sport.
Coutinho has been linked with a Premier League return after his failure to impress La Liga giants Barcelona with Bayern Munich not also ready to keep him.
The Catalan based club are desperate to offload the 28-year-old to balance their books.
However, his agent Kia Joorabchian, who has close ties with the Gunners, could see him join Arsenal in the end.
He earned £200,000-a-week on loan at Bayern.
According to Sport, the Brazilian is ready to take a significant pay cut and consider a move to Arsenal.
The report says the Brazilian was initially reluctant to discuss any transfer that would involve a salary reduction but he’s changed his stance and now asks for more time to consider all pros and cons of a possible move to the Emirates.
Coutinho is still holding out hope that his Liverpool will forgive his infamous switch in January 2018 and approach Barcelona to get him back.
While Leicester and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on him, the Catalan-based news outlet insists that Arsenal have an advantage over competitors. The name of that advantage is Kia Joorabchian, an agent, whose influence on Arsenal has been growing over the last year.
ESPN reports that the summer transfer budget of the London outfit will not exceed £30m. The Gunners are largely expected to have a cash-strapped summer with the club set to prioritise loan and swap deals.
Thus, the Catalans will probably have to settle for a loan deal instead of selling him to make this move happen and ease the financial strain on the budget.
