Eduardo Camavinga had his heart set on a move to Real Madrid, but the coronavirus crisis has caused 34-time La Liga Champions to opt against spending large sums of money this summer. Instead, players would move in the other direction at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The Rennes midfielder has been in the top flight for just 14 months and he knows that he would have his shot, only if he can keep plying his trade for the French side for another season before making the leap to one of the so-called big boys of Ligue 1.
Camavinga has asked Rennes’ directors to not listen to any offers they receive as he wants the situation to change and for Real Madrid to once again be in a position to make a big splash in the transfer market.
Los Blancos have not got in touch with Rennes. It is true that representatives from the Spanish club made an approach the player’s environment, but there has not been any offer placed.
Camavinga’s contract ends on June 30, 2022. The midfielder has a renewal offer on the table, but it is not his intention to extend the deal he signed one year ago.
The 17-year-old made 34 outings for the French club and has managed to net once also registering 2 assists last season.
