Barcelona have now been given the “green light” by Generalitat de Catalunya to proceed with their presidential elections on January 24, according to Spanish media.

A meeting involving the stand in management board and the departments of the Generalitat was that which provided this update after the resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu from the position causing the elections to be held earlier.

It was discussed how best to hold the elections taking the COVID-19 pandemic into consideration with measures such as multi-site to be put in place.

The club is expected to use the Camp Nou and the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper as alternate voting points to reduce the number of voters at a point.
