A meeting between the Catalan Government and FC Barcelona was held to address the holding of the elections for President and Board of Directors of the sports entity in the relation to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Government told the club that the current pandemic doesn’t allow the movement outside the environment to have a polling station due to the high mobility this would generate.

FC Barcelona club has stated the impossibility of holding elections on the proposed date due to mobility restrictions decreed by the Catalan Government in relation to the pandemic, which is why the date of the elections must be delayed.

The Blaugrana has asked the Catalan Government to weigh the possibility of tweaking the present sports rules in order to enable voting by post on the new date of the elections, a request that the Government has taken note of.
